Disintegration & Reintegration in Cinema 4D from rob redman on Vimeo.

Hosted by Rob Redman.

A favourite topic and one that keeps coming back is how to effectively destroy objects in Cinema 4D. There are a huge variety of methods and tools available for this, some use clothilde, others purpose built plugins but there are a few ways of doing it with just the standard tools.
This is just one way but it works great, is simple to set up and is really versatile. Works with any mesh as well, so if you have complex objects to destroy give this a try.

Try it out and see what else you can come up with using other mograph tools or standard effectors.

IPC Content from Matt Simmonds on Vimeo.

A short film introducing IPC Content, a new branded content strategy from IPC Media. I worked directly with the team at IPC to develop and design this before animating it. We worked especially hard to create a narrative and visual structure that didn’t rely on stats or sales figures or even previous IPC content, allowing for a fresh and engaging piece of content in itself.

This will be used by IPC to lead presentations and pitches to media partners and major brands.

New York Biotopes from Lena Steinkühler on Vimeo.

My bachelor graduation project „New York Biotopes“ deals with abstract plants and creatures, which change their forms because of insufficient living space and adapt themselves to the surroundings of the metropolis New York City. A type of metamorphosis, where the newly developed vegetation assimilates elements of the city and makes them useful for their own purposes. These creatures and plants, partly mechanical, partly organically in appearance, spread more and more over the city and fill it up with life.

My idea was to create a film, that fills up the metropolis New York with vegetation, that adapts to the straightness of the technology and the given situation. This happens through the assimilation of structures and forms. These biotopes are shaped by the existing living environment, but in turn also shape the newly developed living environment by their presence. In other words, a symbiotically coexistence begins.

Rectify : MyLifeIn20Years.com from Michael Sevilla on Vimeo.

MyLifeIn20Years.com is a campaign site that promotes a Sundance Channel original show called ‘Rectify’. The concept of the site was to dynamically write a narrative that parallels the experiences of Rectify’s main character Daniel Holden. In doing so, we give people an impactful first person experience of being wrongly accused of murder, spending 20 years in jail, losing most of their friends, and having to re-adjust to a whole new world. Throughout this experience we introduce users to characters of the show, plot lines, background history, and visuals of the show.

The site uses Facebook’s connect api to analyze a user’s friends, likes, and basic interactions ( like who comments most on your feed ) to determine what friends may stick around and who may disown you. After compiling this data, we create a unique storyline for the user that can change on each visit.

I directed, designed, and branded the site to reflect a social network 20 years into the future. I chose a clean, futuristic aesthetic that compliments the advanced 3D environment that allows users to travel through time and gather clues to why they were in prison for 20 years. I paid special attention to type, iconography, colors, animations, and imagery so that I could deliver an experience that not only feels futuristic but also allows the transfer of emotions and trials from the main character of Rectify to every user that visits this site in a very personal way.

My roles were concept, direction, design, branding, and some motion.
